Precision current source

When measuring electrical transport, it is essential to inject a well‑defined and stable current into the sample. If the sample impedance changes rapidly during the experiment, the current source must track these variations to maintain a constant current. In many situations—such as Hall measurements—it must also be possible to reverse the current easily to eliminate induced or parasitic effects.

Our precision current source delivers either 1 mA or 10 mA into loads up to 700 Ω (at 10 mA) or 7 kΩ (at 1 mA). It features a slew rate of ~0.1 V/µs and a bandwidth of ~400 kHz. The device is battery‑powered, and the analog stage uses a fully linear power supply, eliminating any periodic noise and ripple associated with DC‑DC converters. The output current direction can be reversed with a single button.
