Hall-effect measurement station

The station is a passive module featuring a split pulsed magnet that can produce magnetic fields up to about 0.25 T when driven by our JANUS current source.

The front panel provides three BNC connectors, each wired directly to the sample holder PCB.

The sample must be mounted on the dedicated PCB sample holder supplied with the device. When the holder is correctly inserted into the coil, the sample is automatically positioned at the geometric center of the coil, both axially and radially. The contacts on the PCB sample holder are directly connected to the corresponding BNC outputs:

  • IHALL BNC → vertical pair of contacts (red lines)
  • VHALL BNC → horizontal pair of contacts (blue lines)

The sample holder also includes a 4 mm² pick‑up loop connected to PICK-UP BNC output, which can be used either to measure the magnetic field or to provide noise‑compensation signals for the measurement circuits.

When connected to JANUS pulser, the coil produces magnetic field ~250mT
